Zion Choir

The Zion Choir is the adult choir of the congregation whose primary goal is to perform music that best serves the classic Lutheran liturgy.  The Zion Choir, a relatively small group of highly dedicated singers, is fortunate to work in an acoustically live worship space which provides an exceptional setting for choral and organ music.  On festival and other special occasions, instrumental music and accompaniments augment the use of the 1978 Gabriel Kney mechanical action organ.

Adult singers of all ages are welcome in the Zion Choir.  We extend a special invitation to IUP students, and to high school students in grades 9-12.  Choral literature representing the best of sacred church music, from the classic to the contemporary, is performed.

Rehearsals are held at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays in the sanctuary choir loft.  Zion Choir normally sings each week at the 9:30 am Sunday liturgy, as well as at special services throughout the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
